Happy Holiday’s, we hope you have been staying warm and enjoying the company of friends and family! We are going to be exploring France and trying some beautiful red wines with a lot of character and complexities to share with your self or a friend!
First up, we are going to try Les Tris from Beaujolais. This wine is a 100% Gamay which is grown in the most southern part of Burgundy. This wine is going to have an elegant bouquet of strawberries and raspberries with a strong presence of acidity and a low tannin structure.
Next on the docket for the tasting this week is Mont Gravet 100% Carignan. This wine was crafted from a series of selected old vine Carignan grapes from Herault, France. This wine growing region is notorious for it’s calcium rich soils and sandstone pockets which provides a rich and supple growing region. This wine is going to have an elegant mouth feel and will showcase dark red fruit, tobacco notes alongside a generous amount of acidity.
Lastly, on our tasting is Trois Maisons, Bordeaux Blend. This bold blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The Bordeaux growing region has a cool marine coastal climate with mild weather creating some of the world’s finest red wine. This wine is going to showcase dark macerated red fruit with subtle hints of mushroom and earth notes alongside some oak and a dry finish.
Cheers!
