Welcome back folks to another week of Wines of The World. This week we are going to explore South Africa and the beautiful wines this country can offer.
To start the tasting off this week, we are going to try Steenberg’s Sparking Sauvignon Blanc. This delightfully crafted sparking wine is a non-traditional approach to Sauvignon Blanc and we are left with a masterpiece. The bouquet on this wine is roasted stone fruits with citrus notes to round it off. This wine has decent acidity to pair well with seafood and light tapas.
Next off we are going to the house of Frank. This producer, creates a lovely lineup of wines. We are excited to try their Chenin Blanc, which has a lovely aroma of pears, lemons, pineapple and dragon fruit. This wine is on the drier side with loads of character and acidity to pair well with any seafood, cheese and charcuterie board.
Lastly, we are going to enjoy some of Frank’s Shiraz. This wine has a bountiful nose of strawberries and cherries with a dash of plum and vanilla. This Shiraz has a long dry finish perfect for a BBQ!
We are excited to see you Thursday!
