Welcome back folks for another week of wine tasting at Noshies. This week our focus is going to be Italy and the beautifully crafted wines that this country produces.
Up first we are going to try a Small Vineyard Discovery wine from Monte Tondo. This Rose has a slight sparkle in it. Right off the bat you get a strong presence of grapefruit and strawberries. This wine would pair perfectly with a light seafood dish or pasta.
Next on the tasting we have a customer favorite, the Cantina La-Vis Riesling. The bouquet of pears, green apples and kiwi are highly present when you first open the wine and pour a glass. This lovely Riesling is going to be drinking on the drier side without the sweetness that one would associate Riesling with. This food friendly wine can be easily paired with most meals and cheese plates or perfect for a snack night.
Lastly on the tasting we are going to try another Small Vineyard Discovery wine from Poggio Vignoso. This Chianti is extremely elegant with a good amount of acid which makes this Chianti a good contender to stash away for a couple years and it will open nicely. The bouquet of dark cherries, strawberries, earthy notes, cigar boxes and leather all come together with a velvety finish. This wine would pair well with a beef stew, steaks or Bolognese.
We look forward to seeing on Thursday from 4-7 PM, cheers!
